Garlic makes life better, the same as chocolate does! And butter, and crispy bread and ahhh I could talk for hours about food and things I love and the things I hate. I hate instant soups, they just stink... I also hate crab sticks with mayonnaise, oh but I love crabs, unfortunately crab sticks are not made of crabs.

I like winter, but I'm somehow missing the green areas and the fresh smell of spring. I'm trying to go green now, well I should after all those cakes that I had to try. The website with the best 'green' recipes is 101 cookbooks as for me. I tried some of the recipes, the dishes are really tasty! I also adore the photos, the whole page is just very elegant. Today I woke up and went running, then made some exercises and after a quick shower I ate "fit and healthy" breakfast. This is simply yogurt, banana, teaspoon of honey and natural blackcurrant juice without sugar made of blackcurrants from my grandpa's country garden. Of course that was only my breakfast dessert!

Today it was wonderful, I made a challah or more a yeast-cake with my grandma. In fact that was me that taught her how to bake it!
It's friday so I have some time to write down a recipe:
You will need:
For the leaven:
100ml warm (but not hot!) milk
2 spoons flour
1 teaspoon sugar
For the rest:
2 teaspoons sugar (or more if u like)
2 spoons of melted butter
100ml warm (not hot) water
1 teaspoon salt
For the crumble:
Mix all the ingredients for the leaven, cover with tea-towel and leave in a warm place. I do it in a big cup for coffee, around 5 times bigger than the amount of leaven, because it will expand! Leave for 15 minutes near the heater for example.
Prepare the ingredients for the rest in a big bowl:
After 15 minutes add leaven, it should look like this:
Mix everything and then knead until soft and elastic. If it is too sticky add a little bit of flour, bur not too much!
Cover with the tea-towel and leave in a warm place for one hour.
After an hour take the dough, knead it a bit and then divide into three parts. Roll them to obtain three rolls and make a simple braid. Hide the ends under the challah. Set the oven for 50 degrees and put the challah in for 15 minutes to rise.
Now prepare a crumble: just mix everything and it's done!
At the end it should look like this! For me it tastes best with butter and cold milk to drink.

Today is my mother's birthday so I made a lemon meringue cake! What I did last year was a disaster, because I tried meringue cake for the first time, but yesterday I knew what to do and I succeeded! I adore lemon curd and yesterday I discovered easier recipe than the one I used to follow, you will find lots of recipes in the internet, but what is important you should first warm up eggs with sugar and then add butter with the lemon juice. But be careful! Eggs can be easily cooked!

I am absolutely not satisfied with the quality of this photo, nevertheless I decided to post daily ;) Today I was in a great rush, I had no time to experiment and maybe tomorrow I will try to make something better with the same vegetables and the fruit, we'll see.

I am sooo excited, because today I was making photos in a real restaurant! Light was quite challenging, but since this whole thing is a challenge I had so much fun. I have also an invitation to another restaurant, more photos soon, wish me luck. ;) Is anybody taking 365 challenge or 52 weeks challenge? I am searching for some support!

It may seem that I am cheating a bit, because that is not actually a photo of food! Nevertheless I decided to post it since there is a tea in that cup!! Talking seriously I just love good tea/coffee and a book, that is what I wanted to show. This is my dad on a photo, reading the Death of a Salesman, he didn’t even notice that I am taking a picture, what a good book this is!

My huge problem is the light! In the morning it is dark, then in school there is nothing to photograph and when I am back home it is dark again. However today I managed to take a photo of food, because this time I finished my lessons earlier. Since I am a sweets addict (unfortunately) I photographed my favourite winter cookies - nuremberg gingerbread.
